About me

About Kathryn

Hi there - I’m Kathryn - a creative, person-centred psychotherapeutic therapist with lived experience of autism and ADHD.

I am based in Essex and East London from which I offer sessions online, SEND consultancy and CPD (virtual and in person).

With over 20 years’ experience in education and emotional wellbeing, I work with children, young people, adults, families, and schools to nurture growth, understanding, acceptance and connection.

As a BACP registered psychotherapeutic therapist, I’m deeply committed to inclusivity and trauma-informed practice. I have a passion for supporting neurodivergent individuals such as myself and empowering each person to move towards their full potential.

Each client is beautifully unique, each therapy offering is adapted to the individual and inclusivity is key - if you are anxious about therapy, have any concerns about how your needs would be catered for, or have had a negative experience previously - contact me - we can discuss initially free of charge - no pressure.

This is about you accessing therapy, having a positive experience and feeling enabled to grow.

Talking and creative therapy for adults & children

Neurodiverse friendly, affirming practice offered

In my online therapy space, I create a neuroaffirming environment where neurodiverse clients can feel understood, respected, and supported. Sessions are tailored to individual needs, allowing flexibility in communication, pace, and sensory comforts. Whether that means using visuals, structured breaks, shared documents, or simply holding space for silence (eye contact optional) - we work in a way that feels safe and accessible for you. I value directness, clarity, and consent throughout our work, recognising that everyone processes and expresses differently.

Together, we build a therapeutic space that celebrates your uniqueness while nurturing emotional regulation, self-understanding, and wellbeing.

Feel free to have your dog nearby, fidgets on hand, wear outfits that provide comfort and let's adapt the sessions for you.

Special needs, diagnosed, undiagnosed or wondering out loud

Do you have a need, a diagnosis, are waiting for one - or simply feel you’d benefit from additional support or adjustments in the therapy space? You are welcome here, just as you are. With my background as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator and specialism in trauma and neurodiversity, I bring a wealth of understanding and care. Whether your needs are named or not, together we can explore how to meet yourself with compassion, right where you are.

Common Mental Health hurdles

Emotional challenges such as anxiety, low mood, self-doubt, and overwhelm can feel heavy and lonely - but you are not alone in carrying them.
Within a calm, compassionate space, I invite you to gently explore what you’re feeling. Together, we’ll begin to make sense of your experiences, nurturing insight, resilience, and healing at a pace that feels safe for you.

Common life problems

Life can bring moments of strain - through relationships, loss, work pressures, identity shifts, or simply feeling stuck. In our therapy space, there’s room for all of it. Together, we’ll gently explore what’s unfolding, creating space for understanding, balance, and meaningful, lasting change.

Trauma informed practice

Your pain is uniquely yours - and I won’t pretend to know exactly how it feels. But I will be alongside you, holding the space as we gently navigate it together. Healing from emotional wounds takes time, tenderness, and support. With care and commitment, we can face even the hardest paths. You don’t have to walk them alone.

Inner child work and bringing out the child within

Many of us carry the echoes of our childhood selves - wounded by early relationships, family dynamics, or past experiences - into our adult lives. In therapy, we gently meet that inner child with compassion and curiosity. Together, we can begin the process of healing, reconnecting with parts of you that may have been hidden or forgotten. Through creativity and care, you can start to welcome that inner child back into daily life - feeling more whole, playful, and seen.

We can do this in a fun and curious way using a variety of means, activities - and at times if you are up for it - including fun experiential homework!

Creative therapies or not creative therapies - the choice is yours

This is your space, and you're free to bring whatever feels important into it. While talking is always welcome, we can also gently explore creative approaches - if and when it feels right for you. These might include art materials, music, imagery, or therapeutic tools like cards and visuals. Creativity can offer new ways of expression and insight, but it’s always an invitation, never an expectation.

We’ll go at your pace, working in the way that best supports your comfort and growth.

Therapeutic approaches offered to suit you

In our work together, I draw from a rich blend of approaches - offering the empathy and presence of Person-Centred Therapy, the awareness-building of Gestalt, and the insight of Transactional Analysis to understand patterns and relationships.
We may also explore practical steps forward through Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and use gentle coaching techniques to support your growth and motivation.
Each session is thoughtfully tailored to your unique journey - meeting you where you are, with care, curiosity, and purpose

“Vulnerability is not winning or losing; it's having the courage to show up and be seen when we have no control over the outcome.”
